A new website was being developed to support doctors in planning their medical careers in Ireland. Having already written content for this client, we were asked to support the site’s project team. We conducted a thorough audit of the draft website, appraising optimisation, usability, and accessibility issues, and reported back to the team.
The next task was copyediting texts that had been pulled from various sources and creating new texts that were unique to the site, with a big focus on content design and proper semantic structure as well as a coherent style. We also made recommendations about information architecture, URLs, and navigation.
After the 86-page site was finalised, we ran further reviews to ensure nothing had slipped through the cracks. The result was a comprehensive website responding to user needs with plain-language guidance and following best practice such as WCAG 2.2 AA.
