What you get from this built-with-you website package
- Type of package: DWY website development.
- Duration: 4 sessions of face-to-face time.
- Format: online in our meeting room with screen-sharing.
- Deliverable: a best-practice WordPress website you can edit yourself with either a single page layout (brochure site), five pages (SME site), or e-commerce features, plus a contact form.
- Preparation: you will need time between sessions to work on various elements needed for the site (you will be guided in this and given prompts and advice where needed).
- Commitment: come ready to focus, with phones and emails off and something to jot down any notes or follow-up points. The more effort you put into the process, the better the final outcome will be.
- Tailoring: the site we build will be a direct reflection of the decisions made during our sessions as well as your own work in between sessions. However, bespoke functionality (like event calendars, chatbots, membership areas, stock management, etc.) is not included in this kind of site. If you are interested in building a custom website, please get in touch for a tailored quote.
If you’ve done any research at all, you’ll know there are thousands of cheap or even free tools available to ‘build a website’. The main problem with these generative AI or templated solutions is their feeling of sameness. They don’t know you, your business, or your customers, so they are based on generic assumptions. They look OK, but there’s a hidden unknown in each one… if a human being with hands-on experience had put together this same site, how much better would it WORK? And that’s the key for us. A website isn’t a picture – it’s a member of your team, and its job is to make sure more people find you and buy from you.
So say no to that Ikea Billy bookcase website and say hello to your new done-with-you website, where you work alongside us to create a site that’s uniquely yours!
What are the different pricing options?
We guide, support, and create alongside you, giving you real-time insight and control at every step. This package offers an immersive, hands-on experience where you will shape your site’s development from concept to launch, ensuring it fully reflects your brand and goals. With three tailored options, you choose the kind of site that meets your needs – from a streamlined one-pager to a product-ready e-commerce platform.
With the ‘one-page’ option (€1,200 excl. VAT), you’ll work with us to build a focused, impactful page that establishes your online presence. For SMEs needing more depth, our ‘classic SME site’ option (€2,300 excl. VAT) takes it further, developing a 5-page site that tells your story, shares your services, and engages customers. If online sales are your priority, our ‘ecommerce site’ option (€3,200 excl. VAT) builds on the SME site option with a user-friendly store that’s both functional and true to your brand.
Why opt for a DWY site?
In a co-created build, you do the parts only you can do. You decide what the site needs to say and who it is for, and you write a first version of the words (a rough draft is fine). We shape that into pages and build them with you on screen so that changes happen then and there, not three weeks later after an email exchange.
As we build the site, you get the value of our experience, knowledge of best practice, and understanding of user behaviour. This will include honest feedback and impartial advice about the site structure, the page layouts, the navigation, and the messaging. We will tell you when something won’t work and why so you can make informed decisions, knowing how each will impact the site and the people who visit.
Throughout the process, you will learn how WordPress works behind the scenes, giving you the knowledge you’ll need to update and maintain it with confidence post-launch. We make the process transparent, informative, and fully aligned with your vision.
What is the process?
We recommend that the process takes just six to eight weeks for the majority of websites.
- Why not a shorter timeframe? Only because we know from experience that owner-operators who are juggling other responsibilities usually cannot carve out enough time to do this in a shorter window. If you believe you can block off large chunks of time in a shorter period, we’re happy to go for it.
- Why not a longer timeframe? Although this can be accommodated, we know from experience that when too much time elapses between sessions, the site loses out in terms of creativity, passion, and coherence. We spend time repeating discussions or revisiting decisions that could have gone into making a better product.
Six to eight weeks is about right for maintaining momentum and maximising the value you get from your package. This means no more than 2 weeks between sessions, which is still plenty of time for ‘homework’.
The build stages:
- Before we start: We’ll send you a questionnaire about your business that will be used to inform the discussion in Session 1. This questionnaire helps to collect some concrete facts we’ll need but also gets you thinking about your future website.
- Session 1 (2 hours, or 3 hours for e-commerce sites*, online): We dive into the business, why it exists, and how it functions. We take a 360° view of your market – your customers and your prospects – and think about what they need, how they make decisions, and who they trust. We also look at the competition and establish where you have an unfair advantage over them. By the end of the session, we’ve established the key priorities for the website and the tasks we must facilitate for visitors. We have a list of agreed pages or page sections.
- Homework 1: You will be given a brief so that you can work on draft texts before the next session as well as source elements like photos, logos, and documents. You also activate your hosting package, domain name, etc., as needed and give us the appropriate access (don’t worry, we explain this to you and give you a checklist so you know what you’re doing). We will get the bare bones of a site in place so we have a space to work in. We’ll give feedback, tips, and examples and answer any questions you have as you go.
- Session 2 (4 hours*, online): We take your draft elements, and together we start shaping the website, exploring how it all fits together and how it should look (including things like typography and colours). This will also show us any gaps or opportunities in terms of the layouts and content.
- Homework 2: You will work on honing the texts and finding any other elements needed (maybe gathering testimonials or putting together a case study). We will work on implementing the design and customising the theme and plugins to suit your needs.
- Session 3 (3 hours*, online): Together, we update the site with the revised and/or additional texts and then conduct a thorough review against our stated priorities and tasks (established in Session 1) so we know if the site meets your goals. We also test elements such as the contact form and take you through all the key parts of your WordPress dashboard so you can see how everything works.
- Homework 3: You go through the site in your own time and make a note of any issues or questions. Meanwhile, we finalise the website and get it ready to be launched.
- Session 4 (2 hours*, online): It’s time to launch! We go through the whole site on a phone and a computer and fix whatever bugs are left so it can go live. We give you some final pointers and advice for next steps and test that any tracking codes, like GA4, are working.
- After Session 4: We know that the first few days can throw up minor issues and “Oh, I forgot to ask…” moments, so we are available to answer your questions following launch. Five days after launch, we’ll email a report outlining what was done and why, priorities to come, and pitfalls to avoid, along with our quick reference guide to managing your site. Your project is now closed.
* For the one-page package, Session 2 is 2 hours long, and Sessions 3 & 4 are 1 hour. We can also compress the total time taken to deliver the package.
* For e-commerce sites, Session 1 is an hour longer so that we can work through the details of your shop (products and categories, payment methods, delivery options, VAT, and your returns and privacy policies). Your Homework 1 brief will include gathering information for your shop. In Session 3, we’ll test the checkout with practice orders, and in Session 4, we will confirm that payments are going through before launch.

Frequently asked questions
Who owns the website?
The domain, hosting, and website are all set up in your name, using your own accounts, and you receive the logins. It’s important that you own and control your website in its entirety, as agencies can go out of business or simply miss that a renewal is due, and a website going offline can cost you business. Some web agencies include the hosting in their packages, but this then ties you to them for future changes as well. We think you should be free to work with who you want.
What are the ongoing costs of the website?
Our fee is a one-off, so once your project is closed, you won’t owe us anything. The hosting and domain costs are paid directly to the providers at their own prices. You may have opted for a paid plugin on your website, and, in that case, you may need to pay a one-off fee or annual fee to the plugin maker. Many people are happy with the free plugins available.
Entirely optional are add-on services to improve your site over time and drive more sales through it, such as SEO/GEO services, content creation, or reporting. Those are up to you.
Who is this done-with-you website package for?
This package is ideal for SMEs, sole traders, and social enterprises that need a clear, professional website, have a modest budget, and can set aside a few hours between sessions. It works best if you already know what you offer and who it is for. If you want additional support developing your brand, a brand strategy session may be the better first step.
This type of package is not suitable for shops with large product ranges, sites with custom features, or larger sites. If you need a website like that, please get in touch for a tailored quote.
Can I make changes to my website later on?
During the sessions, you’ll have learnt about the WordPress dashboard and how it works, and we will have shown you how to update the key parts of your site. So you will be able to go in at any point and add or change things. It’s your site, and you’ll know how to update it.
If in the future you decide you want more significant changes, you can call in an expert. Lots of website designers and developers have WordPress expertise, as it is such a popular choice around the world.
